Muffin Tin Meals

I LOVE to make my boys muffin tin meals and they LOVE them too! The boys have been home for two days for summer break and they've had muffin tin meals on both days now! I love that I can give them six things in a muffin tin. It's just a fun way to serve lunch and it beats packing lunches! I was ready for school to be out for that one reason! Who else is feeling me, there?

L and Yellow Muffin Tin Meal

The boys love muffin tin meals! And I love to make them! What is a muffin tin meal you might ask?!? It is a simple  and fun way to serve food to kids.The small size of the muffin cups make perfect portion sizes for little mouths. 

This week we focused on the color yellow and the letter L. I tried to think of yellow and L foods and came up empty, so I improvised and added magnets to the boys' tins. JP didn't care for it and took them off immediately and I laughed. Oh well, I tried. :)

This muffin tin meal consists of: cut up stick cheese, a peanut butter and honey sandwich, apple slices, carrots, and pretzels. 
 

Easter Muffin Tin Meal

 I am LOVING making muffin tin meals for the boys! I just find it a new, fun, creative way to present lunch!

I made them an Easter themed muffin tin meal with green liners, and Easter toppers. I had bought this set of liners after Easter year on sale and now I have a great use for them. I do plan to also make cupcakes or muffins soon with them.

Easter Muffin Tin Meal:

• Peanut Butter and Honey Sandwich in the shape of an Easter egg
• Peaches
• Bananas
• Sliced carrots
• Yogurt with sprinkles
• Mozzarella stick cheese cut up

 

JP wanted to help, so he lined his pan with the liners. Love his helpful heart! 

I encouraged the boys to at least take two bites of each cup. JP ate almost all of his muffin tin. CA wasn't as interested in  his lunch as he was the fruit smoothie I made to go with it. Oh well, I put saran wrap over it and saved it for his afternoon snack!

My 1st Muffin Tin Meal

This week we worked on a few Spring activities when we actually did "preschool stuff". To be real honest, as we get closer to meeting blessing #3 in about a month this mama is losing steam. Overall, I feel great, just getting a little tired. Thankfully my boys are flexible and roll with the punches.

One thing I did get really excited about this week is Muffin Tin Meals. I have seen a ton of great ideas that my fellow blogging mama friends are doing with their kiddos and food. So I thought I would check it out. I found this great site called Muffin Tin Mom where this awesome blogging mama hosts a weekly linky party with great ideas to make meals for kids in muffin tins.

So I decided to give it a whirl! At the time I didn't have two muffin tins to use for both of the boys, so I decided just to use muffin liners. The boys LOVED it! They both gobbled up both of their lunches, especially the m &ms for desert. I love the idea making meals more fun and a way to introduce new foods in a fun way.

Here is my 1st muffin tin meal! In honor of Spring related activities I used one of our 101 cookie cutters to make their sandwich in the shape of a flower. I included cheese, cheerios, craisins, whales and m&ms. I presented lunch this way numerous times this week and each day both JP and CA seemed to enjoy it.

This weekend I hit the Dollar Tree and found two muffin tins with six sections. I also found Easter muffin liners. :) Yea! I also got a major surge of energy one night this past week and reorganized my pantry. Now all of the items I need for baking, crafting, and muffin meals are all in one place! I am looking forward to making more Muffin Tin Meals this week for the boys.

This awesome container needed a new purpose, so off to my pantry it goes. I like to label things with masking tape as it does not leave a sticky residue.
