New Year's Sensory Bin and Plans/Activities...

We are getting ready to ring in 2012 together as a family!

I saw this great idea for a New Year's number sensory bin at Mom's Heart and decided to recreate it for my boys. They loved it.
I used foam numbers from a puzzle, numbers from our play doh set, pom poms, curly string ribbons, and party blow horns from the Dollar Tree. The boys loved the new bin!

Here are two books we will read this weekend. P.Bear's New Year's Party is a sweet, counting book about a polar bear who has a new year's party with all of his friends.

We are planning our own New Year's Eve party at home this year. I decided to write  the activities on the back of party hat cut outs(that I also found at the Dollar Tree). During our family night together I will let each child choose a hat/activity for us to do. It should be a ton of fun!

Happy New Year! May God bless you all in 2012!

  4. These are wonderful ideas. I was at a bit of a loss as to what to do for New Year's with Liam so I haven't really planned anything.

Love the sensory bin. I need to put together a numbers sensory bin later in the year. It's an excellent idea that can be used anytime. :)

Jenny,Yes, the number sensory bin can be used anytime. I need to sit down with my boys to "teach" them a few things with the bin, they just play independently with them at first. But I love that too!

  8. I LOVE reading your blog! It is the first "preschool at home" type blog I read when I'm looking for new ideas. I haven't started doing this on a regular basis yet. My plan has been to gather ideas throughout the fall(& let Alyssa get on some sort of a schedule) and begin in January. Although I miss seeing you at MOPS, I love being able to keep up with you on here and see all the fun things you are doing with your boys! Keep up the great work!! :)
